I love sports quotes. Even if you've never played sports or don't consider yourself athletic, you can still draw meaning and inspiration from the famous words of athletes, coaches and spectators. Displaying your favorite quotes is a great way to keep them present in your daily life, so I devised this fun, incredibly simple DIY for sports fans.
Ceramic trays aren't only very useful, but also complement any decor. I have a few around my apartment that I use to lay my cell phone, jewelry, random hair ties or spare change. While they look nice on their own, why not jazz up that stark white with some wisdom? It only takes a little effort to add your favorite, inspirational sports quote and make it a unique tabletop accessory you'll love to look at!
Here's what you'll need:
- Small Cuatro Platter (These are super affordable, so stock up!)
- Metallic Sharpie
- Sports quote
- Small piece of paper cut to platter size
- Pencil
Step 1: Use the pencil to write out your quote on the piece of paper to plan the placement and appearance of the words.
Step 2: Using the paper as your guide, write the quote on the platter with the metallic sharpie. You can also add accents or illustrations to the edges, whatever your heart desires! Just remember, it's permanent. :)
Step 3: Place the platter in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
Step 4: Remove the platter from the oven and allow to cool completely.
Step 5: Your dainty dish is ready to use and display!
